Building Muscle Without Weights

Building muscle without weights is possible - if you use effective exercises.

However, there's only so much muscle you can build without lifting weights.

The good news is there's a large variety of equipment that can help you pack on some size without weights.

Here are some simple pieces of equipment.

Pull Up Station

weider 200 pull up station A good pull up and dip station is a GREAT piece of equipment to have. You can build muscles in your back, chest, biceps, triceps, and abs.

With a pull up station you can do...

  • dips for your chest and triceps
  • pull ups for your back
  • chin ups for your biceps (pull ups with palms facing you)
  • captain's chair leg raises for your abs

Two pull stations with good reviews are the Weider 200 Power Tower and the Body-Solid® Deluxe.

You can browse a selection of pull up stations here.

Dip Stand

A dip stand is much smaller and less expensive than a full pull up and dip station.

Dips are one of the most effective exercises for adding mass to your chest and triceps.

One of the best dip stations is the THERACK® Workout Station. It ain't the cheapest dip station, but you can do a whole lot with it.

You can do 19 different exercises. In addition to dips, you can do pushups, rows, curls, and knee raises.

The THERACK Workout Station is sturdy but it also folds up for easy storage. Check it out.

The Iron Gym

iron gym Pull ups is one of best exercises for building muscle in your back. But if you’re not working out at a gym, you may not have any way of doing pull ups.

The Iron Gym is a pull up bar that you can attach to a door frame and easily remove it. It uses leverage, so there are no screws and you won’t have to worry about damaging your door.

One of the good things about the Iron Gym is its versatility. It can be used for pull ups, push ups and sit ups.

You can even build up your biceps by doing pull ups with a reverse grip (palms facing you).

Weighted Vest

A weighted vest can make some simple exercises much tougher.

You can wear one while you do push ups, pull ups, squats, lunges and more.

The Perfect Pushup

I’ve used the Perfect Pushup, and it definitely adds a different dimension to pushups. It also has a whole bunch of good reviews.
